DIAR was established by two Syrian artists and musicians who relocated to Toronto, Canada in early 2018. The name "DIAR" was thoughtfully chosen as it holds deep cultural significance. In traditional Syrian-Damascene terms, "DIAR" refers to the open space or courtyard within historic Syrian homes. This name encapsulates a journey into our past, evoking memories of childhood, friendships, family, love, joy, sorrow, and the roots that shape us.
